Dr. Dan McClure

About Dr. Dan McClure, DC, CCSP, CCEP

"Dr. Dan", as his patients affectionately call him, combines a life-long love of athletics with his chosen profession for a natural specialization in chiropractic sports medicine. He is a former high school and college athlete who first became interested in chiropractic when it offered him great relief for a low back injury sustained during college football.

Following his graduation from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1982, Dr. Dan relocated to Bayfield, Colorado, and began volunteering as a team physician for local high school football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, and baseball. The valuable experience gained in working with these athletes, plus completion of his C.C.S.P. degree in 1988, led to his selection for the interdisciplinary sports medicine team at the US Olympic Training Center in 1989. His USOC association continued through the 1990 Olympic Sports Festival and the 1991 Pan American Games.

Due to his successful treatment of divers' wrist injuries at those USOC events, Dr. Dan was invited to join the Sports Medicine staff of US Diving in 1991. Since then, he has worked with elite divers at training camps, Indoor and Outdoor National Championships, Olympic Trials, and the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.

Dr. Dan's chiropractic sports medicine involves nearly every imaginable sport. In addition to his USOC and US Diving sports experience, he has worked with professional mountain bike racers and rodeo athletes. His family chiropractic practice in southwestern Colorado gives him daily opportunities to work with skiers (snow and water), snowboarders, weightlifters, and other athletes.

Dr. Dan's professional affiliations include the ACA, the CCA, the ACA Council on Sports Injuries and Physical Fitness, FICS (International Federation of Sports Chiropractors), USOC Sports Medicine Society, and Wrangler SportsChiropractic.

Dr. Dan's combination of practical experience and knowledge of chiropractic sports medicine make him uniquely qualified to speak about "Management of Traumatic Sports Injuries."
